Flat Out

Flat Out

A couple years back I spent a good part of the winter going through my archive and creating a 11in x13in Landscape book. I used the on-line publisher Blurb to print Flat Out. Before retiring the book to my office shelf, I shared it with several of my vintage racing friends and clients. After looking through a few pages their first question was, “How do I Buy a copy?”.

During last year’s F1 season I started watching races NASO PDX wine bar in Portland. I shared Flat Out with the enthusiast owner and cliental. I was thrilled to see the reaction of the younger enthusiast when they looked at my photographs from back in the 1970s.

With the response and encouragement, the decision was made to do a limited run coffee-table book of my motor racing images. I want to illustrate what motor racing was like through the ‘70s and early ‘80s, a time when the enthusiast had access to the paddock and trackside access was only limited by a waist-high fence.

I will be posting an overview of the next project. It is going to be a much bigger (350+ pages) professionally designed and printed book.
